Elective Egg Freezing
with Thomson Fertility Centre
Preserving Your Fertility,
Empowering Your Future
Egg freezing is a process that allows women to retrieve, freeze, and store healthy eggs for use later in life. Since frozen eggs do not age, they remain young and healthy as they were when they were frozen, providing women with more flexibility and reduced fertility anxiety.
Starting from 1 July 2023, women aged between 21 and 37 will be legally permitted to freeze their eggs in Singapore for non-medical reasons through elective egg freezing, which will be available at Thomson Fertility Centre.
At Thomson Fertility Centre, we understand that every woman has unique circumstances and wishes to chart her path to motherhood at her own pace.

YOUR FIRST VISIT
On your first visit to Thomson Fertility Centre, you’ll undergo an AMH blood test. An AMH blood test measures levels of Anti-Mullerian hormone, which corresponds to one’s egg count. This test helps access the number of remaining eggs you have and your fertility baseline.
You’ll undergo a pelvic ultrasound and speak with our fertility specialist about your medical background and concerns. Our specialist will review your test outcomes, including your AMH blood test, and suggest personalised treatment plans based on your individual requirements, if necessary.
For your first visit to Thomson Fertility Centre, you’ll undergo an AMH blood test to assess your fertility. Following this test, you will book an appointment for a second visit to continue the evaluation and receive further guidance from our fertility specialists.
During your second visit, undergo a pelvic ultrasound and consult with a fertility specialist about your medical history and concerns. The specialist will discuss your test results with you, and if needed, propose customised treatment plans tailored to your specific needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a low egg count, have no plans to start a family yet, are uncertain about having children, or sure that you would want a child in the future, then you may wish to consider egg freezing, after weighing the costs and benefits of the procedure.
A pelvic ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive diagnostic procedure performed to examine and identify abnormalities in one’s pelvis and reproductive system. During the procedure, a cold gel is applied to your pelvic area, and a small, handheld device called a transducer is gently moved across the skin. The transducer sends and receives sound waves that create images of your internal organs on a monitor. It usually takes only about 5-10 minutes to complete, making it a quick and comfortable examination method.
You should bring along your menstrual history, and any other medical or surgical history. If you have reports from previous health screening or medical institutions, do bring them along so you may have a more fruitful discussion with your fertility specialist. A family history of early menopause or other genetic issues would also be relevant.
Yes, you may register interest in our reproductive screening and let our clinic staff know your preferred specialist once they contact you with more details.
